Lake Balaton is situated in the west of Hungary. It is the largest lake in Central Europe with an area of approximately 600 km2. Beaches of Lake Balaton are particularly desirable for families because the shore is really flat and the depth of the lake is increasing gradually. Especially on the south shore of the lake, the children can walk hundreds of meters into the lake.

Lake Balaton is a versatile place and it is a popular tourist destination. Due to its diverse landscape, lush flora and fauna, old castles and chateaus Balaton annually draws hundreds of thousands of tourists. The temperature of the lake in summer rises up to 27 degrees. Therewith, the lake offers extensive opportunities for almost all water sports. Anglers will find rich fish stocks, sailors and surfers - good winds, and those who seeks quite rest on the green beaches – will find enough of them.

Lake Balaton beaches offer even more opportunities. For example, the Table Mountain Badacsony, located on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, is famous for its large wine-producing areas. The Tihany Peninsula, situated on the northern shore of the lake, is a paradise for a bird observer. A huge variety of birds can be observed there, including rare species. The peninsula is protected. Also built in the rock Klausen monk monastery is worth visiting. Besides, the view over the lake you can observe from there will give you a lot of wonderful impression.

Vacation at Balaton offers you the possibility to enjoy wonderful nature and culture together. There is the Sumeg castle built in the Middle Ages, where different folk festivals are taking place.
