6 kilometers north-west of Lake Balaton the biggest and the most famous resort of Hungary – Heviz - is situated. It is known primarily due to its lake with a curative effect.

Thermal lake Heviz which has an area of 4,4 hectares – is a unique one in Europe and one of the biggest warm-water lakes in the world. Healing springs from the depth of 38 meters gather in the underwater cave and make their way through the rock chimneys just like lava of an active volcano. Lake Heviz has this unique feature due to the two thermal springs with a temperature of 42 ° C and 38 ° C and a mineral one with a temperature of 17 ° C.

Radioactive therapeutic mud that covers the bottom of the lake possesses extraordinary curative effects. It consists of iodine, organic substances, estrogen.
