Wooded Heights and Historic Landmarks

Wooded heights and historic landmarks give Zalaszántó a clear landscape and cultural framework. Tátika is located in the vicinity of Zalaszántó. Tátika is a steep, wooded mountain 413 meters high that rises within the boundaries of Zalaszántó. The ruins of Tátika Castle stand on the summit of the mountain in the area of Zalaszántó. The mountain and castle remains thus combine a distinct landscape impression with a visible historical trace. The height of 413 meters and the steep, wooded form are just as much part of the mountain described as the castle remains on its summit. Temenosz offers a guided walk through a garden complex. Poems and images accompany the route, while secluded seating areas are intended for quiet reflection. The garden setting and tranquil orientation give this experience a different character from the historic heights and castle ruins. Thus, different forms of pausing for reflection exist side by side in one place: the elevated location of the stupa and the landscaped path through Temenosz. The stupa and Temenosz differ in their spatial form: the stupa is connected with a hill above the village, while Temenosz is connected with a garden complex and a guided route.
