Castle Park and Neoclassical Buildings
The Batthyány Castle stands in the centre of Enying. The Czifrakert park surrounding the Batthyány Castle is one of the venues for summer outdoor events in Enying. Duke Batthyány Fülöp had the former manor house expanded between 1809 and 1811 according to plans by Georg Möser in the Neoclassical style. The Nepomuki-Szent-János Church is a nationally protected Neoclassical monument dating from 1841. The castle, park and church thus mark three different cultural points of reference in Enying.
Churches with Their Own Architectural History
The Baroque architectural ensemble comprising Enying's Reformed Church and vicarage was built between 1789 and 1792. The Reformed Church and vicarage of Enying contain a pulpit and church pews dating from the late 18th century. Enying's free-standing Evangelical Church is a Neo-Romanesque church built in 1938 according to plans by Bálint Szeghalmy. The inscription “Erős vár a mi Istenünk” appears above the entrance to Enying's Evangelical Church. The churches of Enying comprise a Baroque ensemble, a Neoclassical monument and a Neo-Romanesque church.
Monuments and Memorial Sites
In the park on Szabadság tér opposite Enying Castle stands the monument to those who fell in the First World War, also known as the Árpád Statue. The monument includes black marble plaques on the octagonal pedestal bearing the names of the dead. The Turul Statue stands next to Enying's Reformed Church. The Tinódi-Lantos-Sebestyén memorial stone was unveiled in 2006 in the schoolyard of Enying's Reformed School; it bears a relief portrait of Tinódi. Rebekah's Grave is a coffin-shaped stone tomb memorial in Enying's Roman Catholic cemetery. Rebekah's Grave was restored in 2010; an information board was placed beside it. The memorial sites in Enying give the theme of remembrance various forms.
Pottery at the Cserepes Csűr
Craftsmanship is represented at the open pottery workshop Cserepes Csűr in Enying, which gives visitors insights into folk pottery. At the Cserepes Csűr, visitors can see ceramics made in an exhibition courtyard and observe work steps such as throwing, decorating, glazing and firing in the workshop. The focus is therefore on the craft process and the ceramics produced in the exhibition courtyard.
Riding Lessons and Location near the M7
The Kabóka Lovastanya offers riding lessons at year-round riding arenas for beginners through advanced riders. The Kabóka Lovastanya is 15 minutes from the M7 motorway.
Church in Balatonbozsok
The present-day Church of the Holy Trinity in Balatonbozsok was built in 1755.
