Balatonberény
Balatonberény is a calm choice on the western side of the south shore. It is less about nightlife and more about easy lake days, family time and access to the western Balaton region.
The village suits travellers who want a quieter base but still need practical links to Keszthely, Hévíz, Balatonfenyves and the southern rail line. It can also work for longer stays where a relaxed daily rhythm matters more than a packed attraction list.
Before booking, compare beach distance, shade, parking and local food options. Outside the main season, services may be more limited, so a car can be useful for shopping, thermal baths and trips around the western lake.
Combine beach mornings with Keszthely, Hévíz or a nature-focused outing toward Kis-Balaton. For broader south-shore services, Fonyód and Balatonfenyves are useful nearby comparisons.
